The process
What happens next
After your profile is complete, this is the usual path to a job in the United States.

The employer offers you a contract. Read it carefully before you accept. It shows the job, the pay, the hours, and the dates.

Your visa application is completed and submitted after the employer's petition is approved, and you attend an interview at the U.S. embassy or consulate.

You fly out to the employer and start work.
The time from job offer to travel depends on the employer's start date, government processing, and visa appointment availability in your country. It often takes a few months.

What you will need
- A valid passport. Make sure it does not expire soon. Many countries require it to be valid for at least six months beyond your planned stay.
- Enough money to pay for your visa fee and your plane ticket.
- Your work history and references, so your experience can be confirmed.
- If you worked in the United States before, your previous visa and travel records.
Notice
No recruiter can charge you money for their recruitment services. A recruiter may ask you to pay the actual cost of your visa and plane ticket. If you pay anyone for these costs, always get proof of payment, make sure you are only charged the real cost, and make sure any money left over is refunded to you.
